Surrounded by teams of offshore manufacturers, product development firms, designers, product marketers, engineers, inventors, companies taking products to market, buyers, reps, retailers, and on and on, I couldn't find a place for all the teamwork issues, ideas, and industry news that fill my head everyday, so I spill it out into this blog in the form of all things related to the product commercialization process.
My experience generally falls in the realm of marketing, product development, international business, and trade. I've worked with businesses, startups, and inventors in the development and sourcing of their products in Asia. I love creating and working with international teams to accomplish goals like successfully growing businesses and bringing products to market.
Prior to this, I worked in international trade policy research. At the East-West Center, a policy think-thank in Honolulu, Hawaii, I worked with international teams of government officials and trade policy researchers on various trade projects concerning the Asia-Pacific region. My work focused on foreign direct investment in Asia and a United States Trade Representative sponsored study regarding the development of a US-Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Trade Agreement.
I am an alumni of the East-West Center's Asia-Pacific Leadership Program as well as the US-Indonesia Society. I am a published psychology author, have a BA in psychology, an MA in Asian Studies, and am completing my MBA at the University of Santa Clara. In my spare time, I can be found doing Muay Thai kickboxing, playing guitar, and practicing my Indonesian.
